Attack of the killer pizza!

Today I am thankful for Vegetables. period. lol

My mom and I had lunch at Old Chicago Pizza today.  They offer a lunch “buffet” which consists of 3 different types of pizza, bread sticks, and Stromboli.  With the purchase of the buffet you do get either a soup or salad.  We both got the salad… not the best salad. I was kinda disappointed. The price isn’t that great either ($11.99 ea) when you consider that I ate all of a slice and a 1/2 of pizza and about 2 pieces of Stromboli (they were about an inch thick and maybe 3 inches long).  Granted the flavors were good but I think it would have been more cost effective to order of the menu.  Oh well. :)   I really had no business eating pizza but I checked the nutritional values online before I went because I thought I was gonna order a salad… but oh heck no.  Most of the salads were way way way worse for you than a simple slice of pizza.  However my tummy isn’t really used to the amount of grease that comes with the pizza so I’m feeling a little yuck.  I probably just need to drink some more water.   And work out when I get home since I slept in this morning and was lazy. lol

I am finally caught back up on the bible readings again.  So I think I had to read about 14 chapters today in Deuteronomy.

Yesterday was super busy so I didn’t get a chance to write anything about it but I had a doggy for about 24 hours. lol  She has gone home to her owner now. But it was fun for a few days to have a dog.  She was very cute :)

I was going to post a picture but it says the photos from my iPhone are not secure. oh well.  Back to work I go!

Chicago vacation begins in less than 2 weeks! Yippie!

The New Year and other Bits

leave a comment »

Has it really been October since I posted anything?! dang.  Well a lot has gone on since the beginning of the year… resolutions and such.

This year I decided was gonna be THE year that I read the entire bible.  I’ve never done it. Probably because I’m generally lazy about anything that is “work” and as much as it shouldn’t be work, it is for me.  But I am trying… I’m actually behind a few days, so I should probably get on that.

My other decision is that I have GOT to get healthy and lose some of this dang weight that has slowly pounded itself back on me.  I’m doing “ok” I’ve lost about 6 lbs which was all holiday weight anyway.  But as of right now I am working out 5 days a week, in the mornings before work.  And I am trying to follow the south beach diet but often I find myself cheating.  Mostly I am trying to cut foods out that I feel I have a slight addiction to, like Doritos. Seriously.

I really really want to lose another 14lbs by May 1st, I don’t want to feel like a stuffed toad at Memphis in May.  It’s really not fun when you’re in kinda snug clothing and it’s super hot outside….yucky.  But to do that I fear I am going to have to up something… either up the strictness of my diet (that’s laughable) or start working out in the evenings as well.  Which is what I had to do the first time I made a decision like this, that was almost exactly 3 years ago.  The first time I lost 25-30lbs… which was AWESOME!  Then I moved, met Jeremy, and with those 2 major changes in my life I ended up not working out, and not eating right.  And it’s all back, and a little extra :( blah!!! lol

Then I remember 3 years before that when I lost like 40lbs and was not being healthy about it… but dancing your heart out for 5 hours when you’ve been drinking and then sleeping til 2pm the next day and only eating one meal before you go out and do it again seemed to work for me at the time HAHA, not so much anymore.  But oh man… I still have a pair of dress pants from back then and they look sooooooo tiny, in comparison to now and the funniest thing is I still thought I was a cow.  It’s amazing how warped our minds are when it comes to how we see ourselves.

Anyway, now I’m going to go eat my almonds.

**Ok I ate the almonds and my brain got to working again… I just realized I forgot something highly important.  Last night at the gathering (women’s bible study group) Ines mentioned that in a bible study she was a part of in the past they all as a group would right down something they were thankful for on an index card each week of the study, and at they end they had a whole boxful!  They went through and read them all and were amazed at all they things that they were thankful for during just that short time.  And I think I often forget about all the things that I am thankful for and I take a lot of things in my life for granted.

So as a part of this blog I am going to post something I am thankful for.  So here it goes!

2/23/10 Today I am thankful for the innocence of my childhood.  I love the memories I have been able to hold on to.  Days of running errands with Mom and translating what Clay was saying :)   I know not everyone is able to have those types of memories.  So I am thankful.
